FARMERS UNION PAC MAKES PRIMARY ENDORSEMENTS

 

(Lincoln, NE.)  The Nebraska Farmers Union Political Action Committee, NEBFARMPAC, made its primary election endorsements.

 

For Governor, NEBFARMPAC endorsed Dave Heineman in the Republican Primary, and David Hahn in the Democratic Primary.

 

Retiring State Senator Ed Schrock from Elm Creek received the PAC endorsement for Nebraska Public Power District in District 6, which is a non-partisan race.  Schrock is a Republican.  Retiring State Senator Matt Connealy, a Democrat, received the PAC endorsement fir Public Service Commissioner in District 3.  Chuck Hassebrook received the PAC endorsement for University of Nebraska Board of Regents in District Three.  Hassebrook is unopposed for re-election.  Schrock, Connealy and Hassebrook are all Nebraska Farmers Union members. 

 

NEBFARMPAC endorsed the following candidates for Legislature: 

LD 2:  Jerry O. Bond, LD 28: Mark Munger, LD 30: Shawn T. Boyd and Norman Wallman, LD32:  Russ Karpisek and Jeanne M. Combs, LD 34:  Annette M. Dubas, LD 40:  Cap Dierks, and LD 46:  Danielle Nantkes.  All but Combs, an incumbent, are Farmers Union members. 

 

Gale Lush, NEBFARMPAC    President from Wilcox said, “We are pleased that so many of our Farmers Union members are running for public office. That is real commitment.  As rural citizens, we need to get informed on the issues we face, participate in the process, and support candidates who support family farm agriculture.” 

 

NEBFARMPAC is the political action committee of the Nebraska Farmers Union, which is a non-partisan, not-for-profit general farm organization, founded in 1913.  Its mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life and economic well being of family farmers and ranchers and their rural communities.  Farmers Union, the second largest general farm organization in Nebraska, provides a wide range of cooperative education and leadership programs for youth and adults as well as effective legislative representation on behalf of family farmers, ranchers and rural communities.
